A visit to the school science lab opens up new
avenues for our budding scientists to
experiment in the world of science. Working in
labs helps in promoting their love for science and
technology through a true understanding of its full
dimension relating to all aspects of life, especially outside the classroom. It also provides a venue for students and teachers to interact and participate in practical, content specific activities, that brings out the importance of science & technology. It also inculcates the scientific temper in them through reasoning and experimentation.
Vibrant, colourful and well equipped science labs in our Vidyalaya adds flavour to the cause and concept of science teaching.
Students are enthralled while working in Bio Lab and observe the live materials under microscope. Human skeleton and specimens of different living organisms generates
in them a curiosity to know about the Living world. Conducting blood tests in this lab, instills in them the desire of becoming future doctors.
Physics lab of the Vidyalaya is a physics clinic as all the problems of experimental physics of +2 level is diagnosed properly with an easy and general acceptable solution.
In chemistry lab, basic knowledge required to impart the right attitude and aptitude for learning chemistry is provided. We are working with micro scale laboratory techniques in chemistry
practical at Sr. Sec. stage for saving the environment from pollution.
In the
Junior Science laboratory,Students of Classes-VI to X perform experiments
an activities as per the time-table.Activities performed in the laboratory
not only makes the subject interesting but also
provides a pragmatic approach to the subject .Class-IX & X Students perform
practical prescribed by CBSE and observe demonstrations by the teacher based on topics like image formation by mirrors & lenses,
refraction of light, Ohm’s law, resistances connected in series & parallel, magnetic effect of electric current, electromagnetic induction etc. Students of Class VI & VII eagerly participate in the following activities. 1. Image formation by a pin hole camera, 2. Reflection of light by periscope, 3. Asexual reproduction in Rice, Potato, Paper, Litmus paper & test for acid bases. 4. Observing cells in a microscope. 5.
Real and Virtual images. 6. Making compost in school. 7. Adaptation in Cactus, Birds, Fishes etc. Overhead projector is used to show slides of various forms of life. It empowers the learners to learn rather than preparing for Exams. Only.

Mathematics develops logic and skill of reasoning among students. To further create a conducive environment in the classroom teaching Mathematics Laboratory has been made functional where the learner learns the basic and essential concepts and skills by doing simple activities.
It facilitates in developing numerical ability, observation, thinking and analytical skills.
The students of classes VI to X are taken to the Mathematics Laboratory periodically for better understanding and developing various mathematical skills with the use of various charts, models etc. Models related to various topics are being made by the students in the laboratory.
Practical of classes IX & X are conducted as per curriculum for effective development of mathematical concepts.

Classes from VI to XII have regular periods in the Library.

Primary classes have their own Library periods and for this they
have been given 1000+ books for their sections.

All the major subjects have fair amount of representation on the
Library shelves.

Library is open during the working hours and even during recess
.
Students are encouraged to use the library during this period.

Students are given books for a week but are re-issued if they require it.

Students are allowed to borrow more than one book as and when there
is a requirement.

Classes from VI to VIII maintain a Library copy in which they record every
book borrowed from the Library. In their copy they collect quotations,
poems, puzzles of new words learnt.

Each section from VI to IX are given Library projects. These projects are
for the academic year and students keep collecting and adding more
material to their respective project files.

A special section is maintained on careers and courses. All the new material is displayed on the display board.
Automation work of School Library has completed by using e-Granthalaya(A Digital Agenda for Library Automation and Networking) prepared and provided by National Informatics Centre New Delhi and circulation of books is being made automatically.

A large and well-ventilated staff room with modern facilities, for refreshing and rejuvenating the mind, is available within the School campus. This room acts as a confluence of bright minds where in the faculty interacts & remains abreast with the latest activities of Vidyalaya. Its conducive and stimulating environment is truly motivating and has been at the centre of many innovative projects which have contributed in the growth and development of the students. |
